City Council District 5 Neighborhood Canvass -- Caminata en las Vecindades del Distrito Municipal 5

A lot is at stake this year in the City of Phoenix elections: good jobs, quality education, safe neighborhoods and a better future for all families!  In past elections, only 10% of voters in West Phoenix have voted, so the area has not gotten the attention it needs.  You can help us make sure that west side families have a voice in this August election.  Join us in a canvass this Saturday, July 30th, to encourage voters to make their voices heard!

We're meeting at 9:30am for donuts and juice, then we'll head out and talk to voters, letting them know what's at stake in this August election. Afterwards, we'll meet back up at the house to eat and cool off in the pool!

I will use this opportunity on Saturday to educate others about the importance of voting. Hispanics along with people of all other ethnic and religious back-grounds must remember we are all impacted by the decisions made by those individuals we have entrusted with the responsibility to enforce our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (Thomas Jefferson, Declaration of Independence). Let us remind politicians it is our vote that is all powerful; and that the power we have entrusted in them we will strip away upon signs of incompetence, greed, or unwillingness to fight for the rights of the people. Failure on our part to take action at this critical junction in our nation’s history will undoubtedly result in the obliteration of the few rights we all have left to protect.

Along with the critical decisions being made at the Federal level, we have serious issues closer to home that require our immediate attention. Let us fight for the improvement in the areas of education, employment, housing, public safety, inflation, and immigration. Let’s yell loud and clear and our voices will be heard!!!!
