You are currently voting on how my tax dollars are going to be spent for the upcoming year in our federal budget. This Republican-controlled Congress has already betrayed hundreds of thousands of Arizonans, passing H.R. 1 (the Big Ugly Law) to cut healthcare and food assistance programs, defund public education, and eliminate jobs – all to give tax cuts to billionaires and corporations.

 

And now, Arizonans are set to lose even more to make the Big Ugly Law a reality. The current federal budget proposal does not address the 103,000 Arizonans who will lose healthcare if Congress chooses to not extend the Affordable Care Act Premium Tax Credit. 

 

Through the federal budget for FY2026, you can stop the catastrophic effects H.R. 1 will have on Arizonans. I am calling on the Republican controlled Congress to immediately extend the healthcare tax credits and work with Democrats to pass a federal budget that does not strip healthcare, food assistance, and jobs from Arizonans.
