Reports to: Campaign Director
Location: Must reside in Arizona within the legislative district
Salary Range: : $1250-$1400 per week dependent on experience, benefits, perks, and incentive pay offered



LUCHA Blue is a Progressive Political Campaign to ensure that we continue to shift Arizona's Political Landscape to a more inclusive and progressive vision. We believe that not all candidates align with the mission and vision of LUCHA, and this is why we created a campaign not only to flip Arizona Blue- but LUCHA Blue!! This year, LUCHA blue will prioritize a number of races. With a goal of creating a strategic voter contact campaign plan to include a field plan of knocking 500K doors, driving 250K calls, and layering a digital and comms strategy. Overall, the goal of the campaign is to win these targeted races, increase Latin/Hispanic voter turnout, and educate voters on the voting process.


Field Directors will oversee team leads and canvassers within 2-4 legislative districts in your designated area, this will include anywhere from 25-30 staff that will report directly to you. You will travel throughout the designated legislative districts and visit each one weekly or more as needed, closely track, and monitor that daily metrics/goals are being met, spend time coaching team leads and canvassers, motivate, guide and support staff, participate in daily check-ins, rallies and/or send offs, engage in recruiting, replacing and/or adding staff, assist in performance management. You will work closely with the campaign director to ensure that strategies are carried out, metrics are being met and the overall campaign goal of 500K door knocks are being fulfilled, if goals are not being met then you are responsible for assisting the campaign director to create an alternative plan to ensure success.


  • Support drafting and implementing a comprehensive campaign plan with an emphasis on the ground canvassing while ensuring that all safety measures and current health safety guidelines are met.

  • Evaluate and adapt field strategy and operations during the course of the entire campaign.

  • Monitor and lead staff to achieve campaign’s goals.

  • Oversee implementation of core campaign strategies and tactics which include on the ground field canvassing, possibly phone canvassing, and support with informing the Organizer on field updates.

  • Ensure that all data and results are safeguarded and tracked in our internal systems.

  • Help recruit, manage, evaluate, and hire all campaign staff.

  • Support training of canvassers and other staff.

  • Travel across legislative districts to monitor and support Canvass Leads and ensure that canvassers are meeting or exceeding goals and metrics.



  • Lead with LUCHA’s values and always keep a growth mindset, willingly taking and incorporating feedback

  • Work with a diverse team of staff; including team leads, data manager, canvassers, with emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal communication

  • Must attend daily Zoom meetings with Campaign Director

  • Must have at least one social media presence/platform and share campaign material on your site

  • Lead with cultural competency and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with colleagues, voters, and volunteers who identify as POC and across lines of difference.

  • Metrics-driven approach to planning, evaluating, and reporting on work

  • Immediately identify hiring needs

  • Be detail-oriented & organized

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Bring previous experience using VAN or the ability to quickly learn

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Have reliable transportation and proof of current insurance

  • Have 1-3 years of experience in field campaigns

  • Have access to technology-computer, internet, mobile phone

  • Must enter and track data on a daily basis

  • Knows how to use WhatsApp or Signal

  • Knows how to use BLOCKS and thru TALK & thru TEXT **Not required but helpful

  • Must be available to work 40 hours or more which will include weekends, evenings, and holidays

  • Must be COVID Vaccinated with at least the booster/a copy of the vaccine card will need to be submitted

You will also:

  • 2-3 years experience building and executing campaign goals, plan, and vision

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required

  • High school diploma and/or GED

  • College degree and/or College hours preferred

  • 2-3 years experience in a leading role

  • You must disclose previous employment and/or volunteer work history with ACE & LUCHA

  • Mandatory dress code-Shirts will be provided, jeans, shorts are permitted as long as they are not more than 5 inches above the knee, closed shoes (gym shoes) are acceptable

Contingencies & Physical Requirements

This job requires travel (35%), to be physically present, train, shadow canvassers and standing for long periods of time, walking through diverse neighborhoods and businesses for extended periods, exposure to a variety of weather conditions (rainy, snow, hot and/or cold), lifting up to 15-20 pounds and frequent use of technology. Must be willing to submit a 39-month certified MVR and if necessary, undergo a criminal background check. Must be able to work 6 days a week Monday-Saturday and occasionally on Sundays.
